La Mano of Hope

Christina Truax

Chris has been part of several outreach teams with La Mano of Hope. Having the
opportunity to interact with women in prison in Ecuador, learning their stories firsthand, and
praying for them, was one of her most life-changing experiences.
She has studied and lived in Europe and Asia, with a background in teaching middle and high
school French and Spanish. Her Master’s degree thesis focused on the differences between
first language acquisition at home and second language learning in school. This led her to
realize that children absorb the culture into which they are born in much the same way they
acquire their first language.
Chris has a heart to reach the vulnerable ones who have not yet discovered the value and
purpose for which they were created. Working with a team of individuals, she has
begun to pray and raise awareness of local human trafficking victims.
