A group of volunteers went ready and able to work on all kinds of different construction projects for the church Casa de Vida (Lifehouse) in August, 2015. The Mano of Hope team completed work on two classrooms on the third level of the building where the church will provide a school and tutoring programs for poor children in the surrounding community known as Brisas del Este, in the capitol city of Santo Domingo.

RD2015grbThe group of five participants provided construction materials, painted, cleaned, finished walls and flooring, and worked in all sorts of construction for five consecutive days while in the country.
In addition to their construction work, the team gave out candy, donations of clothing and shoes, and sports equipment to the children of needy families in the area. Additionally the team was able to provide donated school supplies to the children thanks to the generosity of many of our partners who gave to make this a reality for these children and families.
