Honduras

March 28 – April 6, 2019  – This will be La MANO of HOPE’s second year to serve in Honduras.  The team will be working in two separate areas of the country, serving in the South with and organization Koinonia and their orphanage and churches, and serving in the North in schools by the invitation of the local government in and around San Juan Puebla.   This partnership was developed through community organizers that collaborated with us in El Salvador in previous years and made the invitation for La MANO of HOPE to come to Honduras.  In some of the communities where we offer medical clinics, we will also host a local soccer camp.

The cost of this outreach is $1800.00 which includes airfare, travel in country, lodging, food and travel insurance. The only travel requirement is a current passport that doesn’t expire for at least six months from the date of return travel. There are no visa requirements.  A current tetanus is required and Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B are recommended.  Application deadline for this outreach is January 1, 2019.

We are raising a team of medial providers who have a heart for compassion outreach and are willing to give of their time, resource, and expertise to serve with us. The clinic will provide free services including general screenings and diagnoses, minor surgical procedures, mental health services and on some outreaches, dental cleanings.   Partnering with local educators and medical providers, we plan to provide these services as well as free medications which will be distributed by our pharmacy team.

Medications are collected through the generous donations of local physicians, medical offices and individual partners. If you are able to make donations, we are collecting vitamins, fungal creams, personal hygiene items, antacids and over the counter pain medications such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen (new and unopened). Additionally we are raising finances to purchase medications in country.

All gifts are tax-deductible and will go directly to the medical outreach as designated.
